Ann Curry
Ann Curry is a photojournalist writer, journalist, and photographer who has covered war zones for the past 45 years. Her research focuses on human suffering and disasters. Curry has reported from the conflicts in Kosovo Iraq Syria Lebanon Palestine Afghanistan Darfur Congo and the Central African Republic. Ann Curry was an American journalist, TV news reporter and host best recognized as a correspondent on the Today program which is a morning-time broadcast news program aired on NBC. Curry's mother was Japanese American and her U.S. Navy-sailor dad both played a prominent role within Curry's personal life. Curry graduated from high school in 1978 and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism in the University of Oregon. In her youth she had the privilege of being exposed to many kinds of cultures. Curry attended various schools including San Diego Alameda Oregon Virginia and Virginia. Ashland was her last high school. In Medford the following year, she began her career in broadcasting at KTVL Channel 10 as an intern. at the age of 22, she was able to become the first reporter to be female at KTVL. Then, she stepped on to become an anchor reporter and anchor for KGW which is which is an NBC affiliate station in Portland. The following year, she relocated back to Los Angeles as a reporter for KBS-TV. There were two Emmy Awards were won during her six year association with KCBS-TV.
